Quick Tutorial On "php -r", Dev Machines, And A Quick Note About zsh For MacOS Software Developers

YouTube Video

There are a number of topics in this video, although it's main topic is to show how easy it is to use php with the "-r" option.

I"m using my previous dev machine which is a 2014 MacBook Air with 8GB of RAM. It has a 128GB SSD but it started disconnecting so it's actually running from a G-Technology 500GB external USB SSD. The machine is currently running MacOS Catalina.

You should never be afraid to use a lower end machine as a developer. They work great for most development tasks. High end machines are usually focused on video editing. I bought my iMac to do 4K video editing, not PHP development, which I do, but it was fine when I was using the MacBook Air.
